A motorbike is the greatest way to explore Kefalonia and it’s beauties, that’s why we’ve put together a little itinerary for a trip to the wider area of Sami.
Starting your trip from Argostoli, the capital located in the center of the island, you take the direction to Sami and Poros. The trip from Argostoli to Sami is 25 km and it’s filled with naturally beautiful curves where you can stop with your motorcycle and take magnificent photos.
On your way to Sami, there is a wonder of nature which cannot be missed. The cave lake of Melissani is one of the most impressive sightseeings of Kefalonia and inevitably one of the most famous tourist attractions. Park your motorcycle in its yard and head inside to experience a magical soothing feeling which only the cave lake of Melissani can give you.
The boats will take you all around the cave while the sun will be touching the water, giving it so many beautiful shades of green and blue. We recommend you visiting Melissani in the afternoon as it’s apparently the greatest sight.
Leaving from Melissani cave, head to Sami village where you will find lovely tavernas by the port and picturesque little houses.
Only a few kilometers from the bustling port of Sami, there is the well known Antisamos beach, one of the most beautiful beaches of the island. Before you reach Antisamos make sure you stop by the curve to enjoy the views, we assure you it’s a beautiful sight!
Then drive down to the beach and let yourself relax and enjoy the beauty in front of you.
